Hello, world

A short note on launching this blog, what to expect, and how it's built — Astro on Cloudflare with a git-backed CMS.

Ocean

This is the first post on the new site. The plan is simple: write more, write longer, and trust the index to find anything worth keeping.

Why a new blog

I had a portfolio. It worked, but it didn't invite writing. The friction was real—every "I should publish this" became "I'll add it to drafts" became nothing.

So I rebuilt around writing. The stack is small enough that pushing a new post is a two-minute exercise, and good enough that I won't have to migrate again next year.

The whole thing is Astro on Cloudflare Workers. Content is markdown in git, edited via Keystatic. Drafts live on PR preview URLs until I merge.

What you'll find here

Three threads, roughly:

  1. Engineering — what I'm building, what broke, what I'd do differently.
  2. Photography — equipment, processing, the occasional gallery.
  3. Craft — slower notes on tools, workflows, and the boring parts that make work feel good.

There's an English and a Ukrainian version of the site. They're not auto-translated — each language is hand-written, and I'll only publish in the language I can do justice to.

Subscribing

If you want to follow along, hit the Subscribe link in the header. It's a personal cadence — no calendar, no newsletter platform. Just emails when there's something worth sending.

Thanks for reading.
